When you request a quote or create an account, we collect the information we need to price your toner, ship a label, and pay you. This includes your name, email, phone number, and shipping address.
We also collect cartridge details you provide (model numbers, quantities, condition, expiration dates) and the payout method you select (Zelle, Cash App, Physical Check, or Digital Check).
When you browse tonerconnect.net, we automatically collect site usage data such as pages viewed, referring URL, browser, device type, and IP address.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to operate the buyback service and meet our legal obligations. Specifically:
- To price your toner and send you an offer.
- To print shipping labels and schedule carrier pickups.
- To pay you through the payout method you selected.
- To provide customer service when you call or email about an order.
- To screen for fraud and keep stolen or counterfeit inventory off our books.
- To comply with tax reporting, including 1099 filings where required.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-site advertising.
Third Party Services
To run the buyback, we share specific data with specific service providers. Each one is contractually bound to use the data only to perform their service for us.
- UPS for shipping labels and pickups.
- Zelle, Cash App, and check issuing services for processing payouts.
- Google Analytics for aggregated, IP-anonymized site analytics.
- Reviews.io for review invitations.
If law enforcement serves us with a valid subpoena or court order, we respond as required by law.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information:
- All traffic to tonerconnect.net is served over HTTPS with TLS 1.3.
- Account passwords are hashed. We never see your password.
- Payout routing details are tokenized by our processor.
- Internal access is limited and logged.
- Backups are encrypted at rest.
No system is bulletproof. If we detect a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected sellers within 72 hours.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If a parent or guardian believes their child has submitted information through our site, write to info@tonerconnect.net and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights with respect to the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of them, email info@tonerconnect.net from the address on file. We respond within 30 days.
We will not deny you service for exercising any of these rights.
Changes to This Policy
When we change this policy, we update the last-updated date at the top of this page. Material changes are emailed to every active account at least 14 days before they take effect.
